Bockswiese Postcard & Vintage Photos

Strohmeyer's House with hill and view of Granddad's House. It's where we have lately spent our holidays. To the right of Granddad's House is his former meadow. Now, houses are being built on it.

Strohmeyers' House is in a beautiful part of Germany, The Harz Mountains are entirely covered with fir trees. The smell is fantastic. And Bockswiese is very high up. The air is pure.

The Bockswiese church is lovely. The people in Bockswiese-Hahnenklee are very proud of it.

Here is the house of my best friend Helga, who has been born in this house and lived there all her life. I have known Helga from my yearly 8 weeks holiday visits to my grandparents in Bockswiese. Helga is now, through ill health, living in a home near her daughters. She had to sell the house. It has always been a Guesthouse. On rainy days we played in one of the verandas and played ball in her garden. This house holds so many happy memories that I have included it into my Bockswiese collection.

Sadly I have received the message that Helga has died on 10.May due to her illness.
