Harry Belafonte so famous.
Did you know that he's also been a civil rights activist since the 1950s. Most notably, it was Belafonte who sent the
money to bail Martin Luthur King Jr. out of
Birmingham City Jail. He's also been an antiapartheid activist for many years. And in 1985, his idea to fight famine in Ethiopia with the song
"We Are the World", generated more than 70 million dollars. In 1987, he was named UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.
Harry Belafonte is also dyslexic.
